I was born in Miramichi New Brunswick, and lived my young life between New Brunswick and Northwestern Ontario, before returning to the east coast for my post-secondary education, where I met my husband.

My family has a long history of musicianship and being involved in all aspects of the arts, and I am no exception to that. I play many instruments – I first learned to play the flute, and then learned to play the guitar – I still have my first guitar! I also have always been writing – as long as I can remember – probably not too long after I learned to read. I decided to combine writing and music after being inspired to write my first novel, and I haven’t looked back!

I currently live in the National Capital Region of Canada with the aforementioned husband, our young daughter and our small zoo.

For fun – outside of writing – I play the bass guitar, poke at websites with sticks and occasionally dabble in cosplay. You can usually find me behind a camera as well, photography is one of my passions.

I’m also a mental health advocate – I have battled depression since puberty, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Social Anxiety. I’m also Autistic, having been late diagnosed at age 41!

I currently am working on the first draft of my second novel, but my current short fiction can be found on this site under the “Fiction” tag, and prior/future speaking engagements can be found in the Speaking section.
