I’ve stepped away for a while in writing. I had to, with the little one having the first Halloween that she was ever really able to take part in. It was worth it. Stepping away from the desk, though, meant that I stepped away from a lot of things – not just writing.
After last year, and the emotional and physical turmoil that found itself at my doorstep, I vetoed the simple thought of participating in NaNo. My life, while calming down, isn’t at the point where I can even think about getting into more than a few words scribbled down a day, or at least something creative.
So, here I sit, at my desk, yet again. Trying to figure out what I need to do and where I need to break things down into smaller parts. I’ll be the first to admit that I wholly suck at doing that right now. There is so much that is out of my control that I can’t break down without third party assistance. But, it is being worked on. Maybe there is hope?
I know I have a huge story arc that I need to break down. I know I need to get my physical desk cleaned up (not that it is a mess, but I prefer organization to chaos).
These are the notes from my desk this week. 🙂 Hopefully I’ll have more interesting things to write about next week.
To my friends and followers who are doing NaNo – may the words be with you!
