For almost a decade I’ve had some serious issues with writing. You could say that I had a fear of the written page.
Thanks to the awesomeness that is Cait Gordon – author of Life in the ‘Cosm. I’ve managed to get past that block and get to writing the second installment in a trilogy. I wish I could show you all the big overarching thing that I have planned. I hope that it will see the light, but damned if I know that it will.
But, for the first time in a long time, I opened up Scrivener, and started writing again. I started writing with a goal. I had the muses (the bastards as they are collectively known) speaking up.
Friends, remember when you critizise someone with “You’re not showing, you’re telling” (and an editor goes “dude, they’re WRONG!”) and “I would never buy your books” – that can and does hit deep. It can honestly destory a person’s little hopes and wants.
I will say that constructive criticism is one thing. But when you say things like were said above, you aren’t offering that. You’re tearing someone down for your own damn ego.
But enough here, I have a second novel to get done dammit.
